Photograph snapped after emerging from the Hemlock Trail at Laurel Hill State Park. Along the trail is a stand of ancient Hemlocks, Chestnut, and Oak trees that were spared from the chainsaw. Some of these trees were possibly alive during Christopher Columbus's journey to America, and they represent one of the few stands of Virgin Forest in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, the weather conditions were too dark in the forest to permit any pictures, but it made for an enchanting hike with Laurel Hill Creek's clean waters flowing by.
