The crashing waters of the Atlantic Ocean roar continuously around the point of rock the Portland Head Light stands upon, bellowing around the two inlets that surround it. Picture was taken toward evening from Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth, Maine and features the golden light of an evening sun cast against the lighthouse and a rock island with the blue and turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean frothing below. This lighthouse is one of North America's most photogenic and photographed.
